‘Line Sisters’ A Solid Ratings Draw for Lifetime

A week after scoring a ratings victory with the Amber Riley and Raven Goodwin-led ‘Single Black Female’ (as we reported here), Lifetime marched out ‘Line Sisters’ – its latest film in a line of suspense thrillers.

Toplined by an all-star cast that included Letoya Luckett, Drew Sidora, Kierra Sheard-Kelly, and Ta’Rhonda Jones, the foursome brought to life the fictional tale of a group of sorority sisters who reunited over a decade after pledging only to be haunted by a secret from their past:  the mysterious death of the dean of pledges.

During its February 12 premiere, ‘Line’ moved to the front of the line of the night’s top trending topics on Twitter.  Look inside to see how that fanfare translated to viewership.

Viewership = 681,000

Despite airing on a day dominated by Olympics and sports-related broadcasts (including pre-Super Bowl programming),  ‘Line Sisters’ managed to be the second highest-viewed scripted program that aired on cable Saturday.

With 681,000 viewers to its credit over its premiere, the flick’s figures were outpaced only by the 2.6 million who tuned in to watch Hallmark’s ‘Wedding Veil Unveiled’ – a scripted TV movie that even bested the day’s Olympic and college basketball coverage to reign as the most-viewed program overall.

Among the 150 top-rated cable programs of the day, the Tailiah Breon-directed ‘Sisters’ landed at #22.

It’s worth noting the viewership number attached to its premiere does not include views from the Lifetime app, streaming platforms, or DVR.  Once combined, the new total could push the overall views of ‘Sisters’ well over 1 million.
